Disclosure and regulatory status
Last reviewed: . This page is updated whenever any fact stated below changes.
The information on this website is general information only. It has been prepared without taking into account your objectives, financial situation or needs. Because of that, you should consider whether it is appropriate for your circumstances before acting on it, and consider seeking advice from a licensed financial adviser. GreenValley does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence and does not provide financial product advice.
What this site is
GreenValley is an independent publisher of historical and educational material about Australian companies and the institutions that surround them. It is operated from Perth, Western Australia, and everything it publishes is free to read.
The archive documents what companies did: how they were founded, how they grew, which transactions changed them, and how some of them failed. It also explains how market machinery works — continuous disclosure, prospectuses, audits, remuneration reports, demergers. Its subject is the past and the rules, not the present value of anything.
Our regulatory status in Australia
GreenValley is not licensed or authorised to provide financial services, and does not hold an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL). It is not an authorised representative of any AFSL holder, not a market participant, broker, dealer, fund manager, custodian, tax agent or law firm.
Nothing published on this site is financial product advice or personal advice within the meaning of the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth). No content creates an adviser–client relationship, and no content should be read as a recommendation, offer or invitation to buy, sell or hold any financial product.
If you want advice about your own circumstances, consult a licensed adviser. You can verify whether a person or business holds an AFSL, or is an authorised representative of an AFSL holder, using the free registers published by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. We encourage you to check anyone who offers you financial advice, including anyone who contacts you after reading this site.
What our content is, and what it is not
All articles are general historical and educational material. They describe events that have already occurred and rules that already exist. In particular, no article on this site is:
- a recommendation, rating or opinion on whether any security, fund or financial product should be bought, held or sold;
- a valuation of any company, or a statement that any company is worth more or less than its market price;
- a price target, forecast of returns, or prediction of any security's future value;
- a statement that any investment strategy will achieve a particular result;
- a substitute for advice from a licensed professional who knows your circumstances.
Where an article contains an assessment — for example, that a particular acquisition was the turning point in a company's history — it is labelled as our interpretation, and it is an assessment about the past, not a view about the future.
Historical content and living persons
Company history necessarily involves named individuals. Our approach is set out in full in our research method, and in summary: we name people where their role is a matter of public record and material to understanding what happened; we report findings in the terms the relevant court or inquiry used; and we do not allege misconduct that no court or inquiry has found.
Where a person named in an article believes the record we have published is inaccurate, they may contact us at info@ceramicstory.com. Corrections supported by documentation are made promptly and noted on the page.
Risk warning
This site does not offer investment guidance, but a reader may nonetheless be considering an investment. Investing in shares and other financial products involves risk. The value of an investment can fall as well as rise, and you may get back less than you invested — in some cases, the entire amount. Past performance is not a reliable indicator of future performance. Nothing in a historical account should be read as a suggestion that a past outcome will repeat.
How this site is funded
This is the simplest section on the page, because the answer is short: there is nothing to buy here.
Everything in the archive is free to read. The site carries no advertising, no sponsored content, no paid placements, no affiliate links, no subscriptions and no paid consultation service. We do not receive payment or any other consideration from any issuer, broker, fund manager or product provider in exchange for coverage.
If a commercial arrangement is ever introduced, it will be disclosed on this page and labelled clearly on the affected content before publication — not after.
Conflicts of interest
We hold no positions in the companies we write about, and we do not trade on the basis of content before it is published. Our editor does not accept payment to cover a company, to avoid covering a company, or to soften a critical passage. No company is given an opportunity to review or approve editorial content before publication.
Every article relies on documents that are equally available to every reader — annual reports lodged with the exchange, prospectuses, court judgments, inquiry reports. There is no privileged information here, and no arrangement that would give us one.
Sources, data and dates
Our articles rely on primary documents: annual reports, financial statements and their notes, ASX and regulatory announcements, prospectuses, court judgments and Royal Commission reports. Where we state a figure or a date, it comes from a document we can point you to and that you can obtain, usually free of charge.
Rules and institutions change. An article describing a reporting requirement describes it as at the publication and review dates shown on the page. Where a rule has since changed, we update the page or withdraw it. Do not treat an undated or superseded description as current.
No guarantees
We do not promise that our content is complete or free from error, and we do not promise any outcome of any kind. Historical research depends on surviving documents, and where the record is thin we say so rather than filling the gap with something plausible.
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions are made solely by our editor and are not subject to the approval of any commercial party. The detail of how we source, check, correct and withdraw content is in our research method.
